I seldom sharpen (one of my pet peeves is the nasty over-sharpening one often sees - I don't want to see an uber-sharp HDTV image). Next exposure, levels, maybe the HDR panel, and that's about it. Starting with the RAF, linear response tone curve, I select a variation of some preset (I've saved maybe a dozen to pick & choose). So, I enjoy Fuji SOOC jpgs but often would like to do more than C1 will do for jpgs, or tifs for that matter. I've tried Exposure 4 - OK but not great.

bright highlights versus soft, mellow, fine art look, with organic tonal ranges making full use of the grey scale palette. Īnother facet subject to periodic whimsical change, is the aesthetic: hard, contrast, deep shadows (much of what I see here). Adam Bonn's X-Pro series postings were my introduction and education to presets (and ironically he is now a Leica M9 guy ).
I do have a set of 3 "Like-A-Look" presets and Thorsten Overgaard styles I found that I sometimes use (and two for a "Q" color look also) and generally have tried about everything (mostly samples, "free") to include Fuji in-camera presets as specified by Kevin Mullins (aside: wonder how he is doing - his postings have gone silent, hope he and family are OK).
The entire thrust of my BW conversions is finding the perfect Leica Monochrom "look" (I think you already know that), so I graze the 'web trying different things. I've tried about everything - Silver Efex Pro, Nikon's Capture One, Luminar, On One, all varieties of Photoshop solutions, etc.
